It is important that you understand that all forms of debt solutions are likely to impair your credit rating, perhaps for several years after entering into the arrangement, but usually for no longer than six years. This can cause difficulties in obtaining credit in the short term, and can often affect your ability to borrow money in the medium to long term. This can affect obtaining a mortgage, hire-purchase funding and more general day to day items such as obtaining house and car insurance, and mobile phone contracts.
Your credit rating will eventually clear itself providing that you do not incur future liabilities that you are unable to repay.
